The day
The Douro on your terms.
It starts at your hotel — Mercedes at the door between nine and ten. Executive S-Class (tinted glass, roomy seats for the family) or convertible E-Class (Douro wind and sunlight overhead).
We drive up to Pinhão along the river, stop for a coffee where nobody's taking photos of you, and arrive at the first quinta — small, family-run, run by cousins of ours. Private tasting, no groups passing through.
By noon we're home — Quinta da Bela. Farm-to-table lunch at the family table. Four hours later it's still going. That's when the best moment of the day arrives: the Vintage opened with a hot iron.
We return on the opposite bank, sun dropping over the terraces. Stop wherever you like. Photos arrive in your inbox the next day.
